The tradition continues!

November 3, 2009

My regular readers from Valley Victuals will be very familiar with this tableau – it’s the one and only Jennifer Myszkowski posing with her entree at our monthly ladies’ dinner.  Our October dinner was at Teapot in Northampton, where we enjoyed copious amounts of noodles, tempura, and bento box contents with JBo, Margaret and Pat.

Ah, tempura… I love it going down but not so much tasting it for the rest of the night. Someday I’ll learn. Teapot was lovely but I honestly waited too long to write this to supply many more details.

The important part is, as always, enjoying the company of good friends. I love that we make the effort to do this every month. Even if everything gets crazy, we know we’ll catch up with each other at Ladies’ Dinner. At the end of each dinnner, we all write down the name of a restaurant we’d like to go to next and throw it in a hat. Whoever’s restaurant is chosen is responsible for reminding everyone of the time and place for the next month. And, they get to pick a charity for the month that we all chip in ten bucks towards a group donation. I say this not to pat ourselves on the back, but to throw the idea out there for anyone else who wants to create a dinner group. Treat yourself, help someone in need at the same time. Win! And, with any luck you’ll start your own traditions, like posing with food. Good times.

These restaurant reviews would not be the same without the traditional picture of Jen M. Are the rest of your dinner companions photo shy?
